You must, must, must check out this amazing gem of a venue! Everytime I see a photo of Juliane James Place, the beauty makes me melt. It's situated two hours north of the cities on a serene pond near Finlayson, Minnesota. Owners, Alyson and Jesse Newquist, are committed to making your wedding or event everything you could imagine. They are super flexible and very willing to work with individual preferences for catering, rentals, alcohol, etc., which means you can have all of your favorite vendors in one place. Now for the bonus (at least for pet lovers like me)...Juliane James Place allows your canine companions to hang out for the weekend. 8 of your favorite critters can relax for the duration of your stay. You know that even Fido wants to see his people get hitched! I just love it!

Work, Work, Work

I hope everyone had a splendid holdiday weekend! We were up to our necks in house projects at the Lime Canary homestead. We're in the process of spiffing up our kitchen on a low budget, which means a lot of manual labor. In addition to renting vintage pieces, I really enjoy refinishing things and giving them a second life. As a result, I've been working tirelessly at revamping our kitchen cabinets from their dated 60s look to someting fresh and new. I can't wait to show you pictures of the finished project (in what I hope will be the near future)!

Milicent's Makeover

Milicent was a salvage find. She had amazing structure and I knew she had some serious potential. For the past couple weeks she's been in the upholstery shop getting a makeover. We love the results! She's now stunning in black velvet!
